From what I`m reading, not many other people are impressed either.
Regardless of the "spin," IE8 seems mostly about Microsoft "deciding"
that it`d be "okay" if they were to make W3C standards the default in
browsing.
It appears from the little bit of reviews I`ve read, that Microsoft is
"stunned and amazed" that there`s a whole other world out there, where
people don`t use IE at all. So they`ve sort of felt it might be useful
if they were to consider that this other world includes some amount of
money. :-)
There`s also some commentary about how this may be a reaction to the EC
lawsuit, which, again, seeks a judgement on monopoly practices.
Dunno...we`ll see how it plays out, but I see that Steve Balmer has
conceded that "perhaps" their decision to make Vista
non-backward-compatible may have been a bit "too painful" for their
customers. (unh-hunh....and?...) :-)
Sheesh. Microsoft`s own site doesn`t display in it!! It is very beta, and there will be lots of changes still, so don`t go reworking those sites yet!
