Start with your elevator pitch and elaborate from there.

Hi Two,

Honesty is the best policy when writing a Mission Statement, it doesn`t have to be long, just sincere....I found a couple of sites that offer models that you can study:

www.onepagebusinessplan.com

www.allbusiness.com

Let us know what if these are helpful...

Don`t be too hard on yourself, many entrepreneurs were where you are today.  Just arm yourself with knowledge & keep going!  Take a look at some of the sample plans on www.bplans.com; may give you some ideas.  Also, for future reference; if you just can`t do the writing yourself; pay an expert to do it for you.  I`ve found great help on www.elance.com.

Paul, I`ve been observing your efforts for several weeks now. I must say ... I applaud you on your hard work, determination, persevierance, and determination.

Let`s take a look at the market that you wish to go after.

Are there major players in that market, (electronics) that have short-comings in the bricks & mortar - or on-line operations - currently?

What is it that will set you apart from other on-line stores, especially the majors?

Is price your only selling feature? (I recall when I was in out-side sales, I had potential customers that were shopping for "price" only. I would simply explain to them that the company I was working for, and myself, did not sell on price alone. But if that was what they wanted, I informed them to go get as many prices that they wanted ... then come back to me and I would beat any deal by $25 !! If they called me back and I could beat the deal ... I did and had a sale. If I couldn`t ... I didn`t spend much time on the deal ... did I?)

My point being is that someone is always going to have a cheaper price. The differance between RDP Electronics and "?" (place whatever competitors name you want) is WHAT??

Once you determine if there is a difference, then you will know how to proceed. If there is not going to be much difference between you and the competition ... my un-solicited suggestion might be to find a different niche market. (Refurbs for example - if you wish to sell on price alone.) Or a different product category.

The PASSION to succeed is there ... I truly think you may want to go back to the drawing board first ... bang it out ... find the holes in your business ideas ... patch them up ... find the next set of holes ... patch them up ... shoot holes in the project (the why`s it won`t work) patch those holes ... (go through the process several times - with both yourself and your business associates, friends, family ect). I if the project still stands, then you have something that will last ... not just a flash in the pan. (Unless that is your business plan - to get in and get out (nothing wrong with that too))

We`ve spoken on the phone and as I had explained to you, GoTruckStop.com is currently coming up on 7 yrs in the works. The site truly went "live" in the new format 6 months ago. It was only after a number of false starts that we truly had the concept, players, and financial resources available to go forward with the project.

Good Luck ... Don`t give up. Just re-evaluate what it is you are trying to accomplish.
