I`m late on this but I had to add....
My house is completely "normal" Until October 30th. The front yard becomes a dead forest of trees. I pound stakes throughout the yard and strap limbs from the trees that I pruned a few week earlier. A mesh wire wall creates a walk that funnels unsuspecting children up the walk, through the "forest" covered in thick fog (fog machine) to visit the witch...(my wife.......hah, that`s the only time I can get away with saying that!) 4 black lights, 5 strobe lights, and about a dozen other colored lights, strands, spider webs, and a glowing bubbling kettle of green fog add to the experience. I stand beside the house and I carefully choose which of the children are brave enough to be scared further.
I`m getting better because I didn`t make a single child cry this year.......I could have....but I didn`t. Aren`t I nice?!!
24 hours later the yard is restored.... as if nothing ever happened. By the time the kids get home from school they look and say to themselves....."hey isn`t that the house with the witch and the.....? Hmmmm...wait a sec.....is it? Hmmm
