Hi Rich and Everyone...
I would like to offer our facilities at TechShop for the get-together.
I started this business with the encouragement and help of Start Up
Nation, so it is only appropriate that we host the meeting here! It is
my way of giving back.
TechShop is an open-access public workshop facility that provides people with access to tools and equipment to help them build their projects. Our members include hobbyists, inventors, entrepreneurs, prototype builders, robotics people, and lots of other really interesting and creative people. The Discovery Channel shot the pilot for a new show called "Prototype This!" at our facility in December. We are the official workshop for the San Jose Tech Museum`s Tech Challenge, and we have a TechShop banner hanging in the center of the museum. We will have a huge presence at the Maker Faire May 19 and 20, with most of a 7,000 square foot building for TechShop. We have already achieved 20% of our membership goal without any advertising. The response to this business idea has been overwhelming!
TechShop is 15,000 square feet with lots of parking. We have a seminar room that can seat 60 people. We have video projection equipment and everything set up already.
TechShop is in Menlo Park near 101 and Marsh Road, about 20 minutes south of San Francisco. We have a 15-passenger shuttle van, and we can make a run up to the city and back to pick you and anyone else up and bring them back to SF after the meeting.
Let me know if this works...thanks!
