I spoke to a salon owner in New York a few years back who was operating a network marketing business within her salon. Her customers could just order and buy the products or sign up to be distributors themselves.  I don't recall which business she was doing, but she was doing quite well. I liked the fact that it was very low key. There were samples for customers to eat and drink and signs and posters up around the salon but no pressure to buy.

Sounds like a great idea, but what do you think the drawbacks might be?

Its a profitable idea but to get more profit you should advertise your shop

Advertising is really expensive and you need seo to do that.

Well as such there is no drawback b'se people spend so much time doing their hair etc in the salon that it actually is a good idea to have visual exposure about the other business the owner has. They say it needs atleast 3 exposures for a person to take interest in something new.

But many times not all salon owners want to retail at their location.

I don't know how relevant the answers can be, but here is my personal experience.

The idea of investing money into rent, payroll, inventory, deliveries and other customer services can really tax your income with expenses and be a GREAT RISK.

So, now more people are looking for businesses they can run from from home with none of the above risks!

I found such a business: no investment, no inventory, no billing or collection, no deliveries, no payroll or overhead. All is done by this International Wellness Company.

I am looking for a few people to join my team, and you qualify if you are self motivated, can manage your own time 5-10 h/week or full-time (10-20h/week), love to help people, know how to use the internet and computers.

Email me for more information. Once you see it, you will understand why more people are getting out of debt and working a business  that lasts a life time!
