Ok, here`s my thought process from visiting your site.
1. I was really excited because that`s just what I need. Couldn`t wait to sign up.
2. No sample menus on site so I felt kind of lost. I new what you do in a general way but no specifics.
3. Clicked on "How it works". No help there either. No menus and even more important, it seems there`s no way of choosing what dishes you want to prepare that week.
Darn, it`s really totally useless to me without the ability to choose the menu. I don`t mean it would be a nice feature. I mean I cannot use it at all without this feature. In any given week, half the menu and shopping list you send will be for things we don`t want to eat. So...I would still have to do all the work to get the other half. Might as well just do it all.
You need a lot of recipes on-line to choose from (just name, main ingredient, and short description) so I could pick the ones I want that week. These need to be searchable by type (main dish, side dish, dessert, etc.) and by main ingredient and by anything else you can think of. Another great feature would be for me to be able to mark recipes as my favorites so in the future I can choose from them easily without doing searches. Also, I would want to choose the side dishes and desserts also and I would want the shopping list to include the necessary purchases to prepare them. I would pay for this in an instant. I would have signed up today. I would pay more than $4.95/month for this actually.
Another nice feature would be to allow people to limit the recipes they can choose from by ingredient. For instance, if someone is allergic to peanuts or hates broccoli they can eliminate recipes with those ingredients from the list they`re viewing.
As far as giving you my email so you can send me a sample menu, no go. I want to know about this stuff right now, while I`m there, on the web site. I don`t want you to send me email now and especially not in the future unless I decide to subscribe.
Anyway, I love the idea and I really didn`t know there were web sites out there that do this until now. Just never looked I guess.
