Hi Guys,

My site has been up for a couple months now and I've gotten over 27,000 hits since then but it hasn't generated any calls.  Most of the traffic is from Ads on Facebook, in which I target a specific area.  I have been told by some that my fonts are a bit small and my partners page is a bit negative but I think somehow I'm not able to get visitors interested enough to contact us.

My business is IT Consulting targeting both home users and small business.

The website is:  www.compfixplus.com

I am quite perplexed by why I am not generating any interest and would really appreciate any feedback you could give me.

Thank you for your help!

Scott

For one thing, where are you located? It isn't obvious up front whether you do remote assistance, on-site assistance, or both ( not on your main page, anyway ). If no one knows where you are physically, there is no way for them to find out right away if you are capable of helping them due to location. For example, all I can really determine for location is your area code in your phone number; unless I know that area code, which I don't, I might assume that you aren't nearby and probably aren't going to be able to help me for on-site help. So, why would I call?

Secondly, your domain name doesn't work with your home page message. CompFixPlus gives the idea/impression of computer repairs, but your initial message and content seems to focus on consulting and system design and construction. For me anyway, it sends a mixed message.

And i agree with the font issue.

Webline, Thanks for your input.  Very valid points!  I will incorporate your ideas into my main page right away.  I didn't think of the repair aspect of my business as much as the engineering and gave the wrong message on my site.  Very much appreciated!!

Hi,

Yeah, the font is small and white on blue makes it harder to read.

You might check your site stats (host and google stats) to determine if people hit your home page then leave or hit other pages....etc.

Some reasons why hits aren't turning into "interest":

  • It could be that the people you are getting to your site are not interested in your services (they are the wrong target market).
  • They get to the site but are turned off for some reason.
  • They can not find what they are looking for.

One issue that could use some improvement is your site navigation. You have three different menus on your home page (not including the fotter menu). This may simply confuse the viewer... or make it difficult for them to find what they are looking for.

A couple of other points....

Watch the file size of your images.. a few a quite large and will take some time to download unless the viewer has a high speed connection.

Be sure to use Alt image tags that are relevant to the web page rather than "photo1" "photo2".
