Hi everyone,

This startupnation.com website seems to be a very exciting place !!! Smile

I'm full of questions. I guess I will be refered to a FAQ page. But I'm about to go to bed, it's 30 minutes past midnight, I registered 30 minutes ago, and I couldn't seem to get the email allowing me confirmation of my membership. I don't have the patience right now to search the website for all the answers to my questions.

First of all, my first language is French. I live in Québec city. I haven't started using the social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or LinkedIn. My question is : Should I post on these sites in French ? I believe the biggest opportunities are for english-speaking people, so I haven't decided yet.

2nd, what products would you recommend to run my business effectively ? I haven't started it yet, I haven't even decided what I am going to sell. But for sure it will be an Internet business. I don't want to deal with products that have to be shipped. So, I guess I might try to build websites, or create eBooks. At this point, I still have fears ofstarting up. Afraid of losing money, of not doing the right things.

3rd, where is the best place to get advice on staring up a business for a Canadian resident like me ?

I feel confident I'm in the right place to help me get the answers to my questions. I look forward to building relationships with people here.

Have a nice day !

Philippe

Hello Philippe!  Its great to see your enthusiasm.

I think you are making a great choice to be involved in the internet marketing arena.  Its a great place to be with lots of potential.

I have been full time on the internet for awhile now, and its the greatest thing I could have chosen to do.  It allows me freedom and flexibility that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to see.

You should check out my profile and read my story.  Also, visit the website in my signature.  I think there is a lot of information there that will really help you out.

1) You should post in whatever language your customers use. As you know, French is widely used worldwide.

2) You must be passionate about what you sell. The reason for this is that you need to produce good content. Content is king on the Internet. It doesn't costs much to start an Internet business. The biggest cost is your time.

3) I don't know much about specific resources in Canada. However, there are tons of great information out there. It does take a lot of reading but it's worth it.
