As an American, I`ve been inspired to support Obama`s campaign.  As an artist, I`ve been inspired to create art.  As an entrepreneur, I`ve been inspired to combine the two into a little niche business.

I illustrated a poster of Barack Obama and built a website to sell it.  I just launched a few days ago and have been slowly spreading the word.

I`ve always felt the need to keep politics and business separate.  In this instance, they are one and the same.  But as a result, I am not publicizing this poster to my already established client and email lists.  Instead, I have other plans to market the poster online and offline at a local level within the grassroots efforts of the campaign.

I`m going to donate 50% of my sales to Obama`s campaign.  I`m not interested in making much money on this one, just a few bucks for my efforts after production costs, shipping and the donation.  (I`m usually much more focused on the bottom dollar.)

I put this topic in the people who inspire section and it should be obvious who inspired me.  :)  Regardless of which candidate you support, has anyone else been inspired by the current political climate to do something with their business?

Congratulations on putting your talents to work. Love your idea and your poster is great - the quote gives a clever touch. This is indeed a great election year - quite exciting - it was filled with many great candidates. I am fired up and ready to go!
