I think a few weeks ago maybe three or four I was on here trying to figure out the "right" business for me I did some brain storming and figured that I would blend my love of gaming with the love of business and have started buying peoples used games for a little more then what Gamestop pays and then reselling them on Ebay so far I have done close to 200 dollars in sales and have maybe turned a 100 dollar profit. (It may not be much but its a start)

The only problem I run into is finding the games and puting my name out there now should I run adds or continue to garage sale and buy from my friends?

I also need a name so if anyone has a suggestion let me know

take care guys!

One of the best ways I`ve seen, for this kind of thing, is a big sign that says, "We buy Used Games for $$$." Whether it`s cell phones, junk, or whatever else, if you make it convenient for people to get rid of what they don`t want, they`ll give it to you.

Maybe you could find some locations around town that are highly visible, and ask if you could put a flyer or sign in the window or on a wall?

Another thing is to put index cards or signs with this message in supermarkets, on bulletin boards, and everywhere else. Be sure to include your phone number so people will know how to contact you.

A Craigslist ad in Madison would probably net you a bunch of games. Glad to see you back by the way, and I love your simple strategy.

The "Go" is a bit problematic. It sounds as if you have an arcade, where you can play and leave in whatever timeframe. Think about it: What`s your absolutely bottom-line business concept?

You`re basically selling used games. "Go" doesn`t effectively promote the idea of resale, lower prices, hard-to-find, out-of-print, and so forth. Without thinking about it a lot, a name like "Game-Over" not only carries a standard gaming message, but it tries to imply that you`re doing it over again. It`s not a good name, but I`m using as an example.

What terms can you think of for the gaming industry that would also carry a meaning of secondhand, resale, used, recycled, and so on?

"Restart," "Second Chance," those are good. You could try something with "Play it Again," and that`d work too. The main point being that the name can help earn its keep by implying something to do with the business.

Think of places like Sears, or Target. We know the names now, but when they started, they had to do a lot of advertising in order to connect the name with the business. On the other hand, Burger King or Payless Shoes have a name that tells the business, but they have to advertise in order to stand out---to compete.

If possible, take a good phrase and add into it "games." So Restar Games is a bit weaker than "Second Chance Games." :-) There`s no rush on this, as the right name will be something that you`ll live with for a long time. It has to feel perfect to you.

Or maybe Game Not Over, since it`s being recycled?
