Hello,
For those of you that might remmeber me, my name is Ben and months ago, I came to this
forum lost and desperate. I was 16 then (17 now :) and wanted to create
something for myself in the business world. Below is my old thread.
This is just an
update that I did not give up my goals. In fact, I do not believe in quitting,
unless I have exhausted every single option. My t-shirt/silk Screen Company was not sure where it is going and struggled in July. I barely had any money left and a roomful of
dreams still unfulfilled.
I was troubled and
wondered where my venture would lead me. In this world, there were a lot of
things I couldn’t do as a 16 year old. I had never dealt with so much stress
before, but I braved though.
Now, six months later, I
have turned things around. I have made significant gains towards my goal of
opening a store, and my website will launch late January. And I am slowly
amassing money for my college tuition. I am turning a substantial profit and I
hope I can maintain that in 2007. I just had my 17th birthday two days ago and
I hope by my 18th birthday, I can take things into a whole new level.
The most important
lesson that I learned from my struggles is that as long as you are heading in
the right direction and work to your full potential, you will always be one
step closer to your dreams. Further, I began to appreciate the true value of
tenacity.
This entrepreneurial
experience has taught me a lot about the world. I learned things that no school
can teach me and actually applied things I know to the real world. I have also
got an internship at a local business school and audited some classes
there. I am doing everything I can to learn everything I can.
I will be heading off
to college in the fall and I will choose a nearby college so that I can
continue working on my ideas. I know that if I do my absolute best now, I will
have no regrets later on in life.
So no matter what
happens, I will never give up my aspirations.
Cheers
Ben
