To improve your rankings and get visitors, you must generate content using long tail keywords (phrases with more than three words) and get all the pages indexed by the search engines (Google and Yahoo). Also you need to get links from other sites. One easy way to get all of your site pages crawled by Google is to add the index your site tags to all of them.

Add meta tags to your pages and make sure they accurately describe your content. Also be sure to update your content as often as possible.

Hi bettysmith138,

Page Rank is a term that Google created and by reading their policies on this topic (which is about as boring as staring at your wall) you can find the true formula they use to "rank" web sites.

I'll save you the trouble of reading that nonsense... they look for three basic things:

-Content
-Activity
-Backlinks

They want to see constant activity on your site, with good content and backlinks from high quality sites.

High PR backlinks, quality content and meta tags are the best things to consider first and should be prioritized.

Quality content and backlinks. Sometimes quality back links is more important than contents. I found there is a website did not have the keywords on their website but it ranked very well at google, I think this is because of the quality backlinks.

page rank is measured by the number of credible websites linking back to your website. the more backlinks you have from credible websites, the higher your PR will climb over time
