I have just recently learned about the secret and have started trying to implement it in my life. My biggest difficulty has been my job. I currently work an assembly-type job, on my own, eight hours a day. With all that free time on my own, I inevitably succumb to that sinking doubt: "How is it going to happen?" "Is it really possible?"

Years and years of self-doubt is challenging to overcome, I know, but forty hours a week of this type of thinking will naturally prevent manifestation of my dreams!!!

I was hoping that maybe I could get some hints and tips from people who are using the secret in their own lives - a different perspective would be very helpful indeed!

 Thank you

Two suggestions - first, ask the universe to make you aware when you travel into negative thoughts because awareness is the first step.  You consciously think positive and then your old negative thoughts hit the ball back
Have you wondered how to bring the Secret Law of Attraction into your life?

Click www.NewSGR.com to discover "The Secret" behind "The Secret" and find out how to get what you really want ... really, really fast.

Enjoy!

Wesley,

If you haven`t already, I would suggest getting the DVD of `The Secret`. It`s a great way to reinforce the concepts of the book.

As to your question, I would say that the `how` of implementing The Secret isn`t your problem. It`s the universe`s. Just being open to the concept is a huge step; starting to catch yourself when you think negatively is also huge, considering you`ve probably been thinking negatively for awhile and never realized it. Now you do realize it, and that`s great - it allows you the chance to catch yourself and change.

I know this sounds simplistic, and I can assure you the background I have in this work is not, but trust the process.  It will happen - just let it.

The great thing about a repetitive job (silver lining concept here) is that your brain is freed up to think whatever you toss in there. Can you listen to CD`s, like classical music, which raises your intellectual vibrations, or motivational stuff, while you are working?

Meanwhile, 40 hours is only 1/4 (plus 8 hours) of your week. Don`t let the 25% get leverage over the 75+%. It is what it is, and it may simply be a vehicle to get where you really belong. Be grateful for the income, start running your own brain, and chill out on letting the process get under way.

I can assure you that it definitely will.

It takes some metal exercise to control your thoughts, and even the best of us can`t master EVERY SINGLE ONE! There`s bound to be some negative ones creeping in here and there.

Tedium & repetition can be perfect catalysts for meditation, try repeating a primary thought or word (see switchwords) such as:

whenever you want to sell something, say: GIVE.
whenever you want to make money: COUNT.
or whenever you want to make something beautiful: CURVE.
for good health, and/or for peace: BE.
to work miracles, or for extraordinary accomplishment: DIVINE.
to do anything with mastery: TOGETHER.

These are simple words to start, like a mental warmup for focusing, then move onto more complex thoughts (focus) like " I will start ___ up today! "

You can also find some great tools to "Think and Grow Rich" in our SuN Book Club, jump right in!

Hope this helps!

I`m not sure about metal exercise, but mental, absolutely! I know this is just a typo, but let`s run with it. I`m feeling all CraigL and everything today, sitting outside a coffee shop in Chapel Hill, NC (Go Tarheels!) and hanging out with innovation companies for the past few days.

The longer a thought is reinforced, the neuropathways are strengthened. But the good news of a positive thought is that, apparently, they carry so much more weight than a negative one. Don`t ask me why, I just choose to believe that part of The Secret. Some of you believe in invisible Gods; same thing.

Anyway, those negative thoughts can become like steel-reinforced concrete in our minds (thus the metal tie-in). But positive thoughts act like jackhammers (without all of that jarring noise!) to cut right through that stuff.

I like the use of positive words above; great ideas.

I wish all of you the best with implementing The Secret. It works if you want it to work, sort of like prayer. Is there a God? Was Jesus resurrected? I have no idea, but those who do believe in the power of prayer. Guess what? When they pray `effectually and fervently`, it tends to work. Imagine that!

(please don`t use this post as a chance to evangelize)

Hi Wesley...

There are many different perspectives on the secret, in fact, it really hasn`t been a secret.  Many people implement the same principles through prayer and their church, as BrandAlchemy stated.  Back in the day, Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer (among others) were the  bearers of the torch.

I would suggest also reading (or watching, as it sometimes comes on PBS channels during fundraising drives) Dr. Wayne Dyer`s "The Power of Intention", which is similar to the secret.  Another great movie that occasionally plays on our cable channels - or that you can purchase on Amazon - is "What the Bleep Do We Know".  I agree with BrandAlchemy that you don`t need to know "how" but if that question nags at you, "What the Bleep.." might help explain a little.  It`s basically a documentary that interviews theologians and quantum physicists that kind of put the spiritual and scientific aspects together. Some people think its hooey - I think it`s interesting.

Anyhooooo... keeping the faith in whatever form it manifests for you is what matters.  Keep your head up and stay positive!  The best is yet to come!

Wesley,

Here are some suggestions.

1. Listen to tracks that focus you on your goals. It could be a product you buy or just you reading your goals, your business plan and other details. Or books on tape.

2. Remember that the day job keeps you healthy and able to pay the bills while you focus on the future. Give thanks for what you have now.

3. If you largely work alone arrange your environment with notes, pictures or other visual reminders that the future will be bright.

Hi! This phrase jumped out at me. You need to change that to "It is easy to change those years and years of self-doubt. They are behind me and today is the beginning of my new way of thinking and my new life. The past is the past and that person is gone."

The Secret is a great book/DVD, but if you really want to understand the laws, I suggest "The Law Of Attraction" audio book CDs by Esther and Jerry Hicks. It has been life-changing for me. I listen to them in the car or while I`m working so that i stay productive. :) You can also find more info and a great forum at www.abraham-hicks.com

Have you watched The Secret many times, read the book version of The Secret, implemented the teachings diligently step-by-step, only to wonder, after expending much time and energy, how to go about implementing what you’ve learned?

Where’s the missing piece of the jigsaw? How can you do it?

Specking of "Law Of Attraction" or you call it "The Secret", I recently read a good report related to the topic.
The report reveals "the missing ingredient to turbo-charge the Law of Attraction"!
