I have tried to activate the .wmv files here on start-up nation on my Mac and cannot.
I end up with a viewer full of hieroglyphics.
Can someone tell this dope what he is doing wrong?
Thank you.
Rgds,
Ric

Ric:

You`re not doing anything wrong. WMV is a multimedia format created and supported by Microsoft, but not supported by Apple (Apple prefers that you use its own QuickTime instead).

Your easiest solution is to download the free Flip4Mac, a utility that allows your Mac to use .wmv files. Check out this link.

In the future when things don`t seem to work on your Mac, check out the site VersionTracker, which has links to lots and lots of free and shareware utilities that make a Mac more useful and more fun!

Good luck!

Hi KevDev
Could you give this movie a try ?
I`ve never been able to view the "On demand seminars".
Naturally I`ve tried with Flip4Mac enabled and disabled, windows media player, and Quicktime.
Let me know if you can pry these suckers open.
Thanks

CampSteve

I use Flip4Mac without any problems to view .wmv files.

But here is another resource.  The VLC player lets you play all sorts of media formats on a mac.

Thanks for the info KevDev & CampSteve,
but the VLC player did not work either.

Luckily SUN seems to be sticking to Flash for all its new movies.
