I use cubestat.com to find information on a website.

the way back machine is best. alexa also will tell you sometimes how old a domain name is. before i build a nice content website, i make it a point to use these two tools to gauge my competition's tenure.  proper research beforehand helps me get my sites up on page one of google relatively quick

Anyone who is legitimate in the industry should be able to help you achieve results in 3-6 months, period.  Regardless of the age of your site, and regardless of how competitve your niche is. :)

You can check the Domain name at using the site Whoisxy.com

It shows Domain name creation and Expiration sate using that You can calculate the Domain name age.
