So I come home from vacation to find a letter from a local business I hadn`t heard of. Seems they bought out another business that I had made a purchase from a year and a half ago. They can`t find a record that I paid for my purchase, and they want me to pay up.
Of course, I did pay for the item, in cash. I typically don`t keep receipts for inexpensive personal items for 18 months.
My question is, how would you suggest I respond to this request, if at all? I`m not sure how to respond without sounding sarcastic, so I`m thinking the best course might just be to ignore it. Ideas?
