The 2008 elections show us that about half the US population believes that, somehow, the government is going to improve all our lives. "Change" indicates that business owners are robbing everyone, stealing all the money, hoarding that money, and making it impossible for ordinary people to catch a break.

That half of the population believes that it`s a good idea to force business owners to give back to the community, keep only their fair share, and come under regulation to make a level playing field.

The key is that half the population, and 100% of the government fully believe that no matter WHAT rules and regulations are put in place, NO response whatsoever will take place! No matter what any government authority does, not one single person will ever, in any way, react or respond to those changes.

It`s the pinnacle of delusional thinking, and indicates an utter vacancy of knowledge about human beings.

That makes sense, though, because government bodies don`t consider people (citizens) to be human beings. Political entities see only numbers and statistics, not individuals with lives and reasoning minds.

In a related way, Mr. Obama`s health-care reform includes a penalty tax on ANY business that does NOT provide health insurance to its employees. That means any small business that can`t afford to offer the perk of health insurance will be forced to pay targeted taxes.

Is that really true? From the New York Times:
So far, with a number of promises having been broken, I think it remains to be seen whether or not this exemption will survive the so-called reforms. Maybe, maybe not.

How long will it take before small businesses either go out of business, or simply terminate their employees if those owners are forced to pay a penalty tax for not offering health insurance?

But the half of the population who want "change" also believe that, somehow, everyone has a "right" to health insurance. No, they don`t. Nobody has a "right" to health insurance or even to health care. It would be nice if everyone had *access* to health insurance (which they do), but it isn`t a right. It`s a benefit to living in one of the most developed nations in all of history.

A benefit is not the same thing as a right, despite what so many people feel to be true.
