Say you and your family/friends go to Disneyland/Six flags for vacation. Of course you would carry your own camera or camcorder to keep your memory on film.

What if there is a service offered to record you and your family on film as you enjoy the rides, having lunch, or just having fun together. How much you would pay for such an one hour long DVD which gurantee you or your family appear on screen for at least 40 minutes.

Or the scene can change to ski ranch. Taking life, getting off lift, ski down hill turn by turns.

Will you pay $100 for it? How about $50? Let`s just say no one will follow you around and take your pictures.

Ustar,

That sounds like fun! I may be the exception, i dislike seeing myself in pictures and video...but for most that would be an awesome concept. Charge a fee for the video and then by the hour.

I remember that you mentioned in a previous post this idea of renting out "wearable cameras".  I think it`s an interesting idea for sure.  How can you promise that people will be on screen if they are wearing the camera?  I don`t get that.

Now this is just a thought based on the little info I have about your concept but when people are on these kinds of vacations (theme parks, ski resorts, etc.) what they want to see is the action - riding rides and skiing the slopes.  But if someone is wearing the camera during these times, they are not pointing it at themselves or their friends/family.  I`m not so sure people would want video of themselves standing in line for a ride or getting on a chair lift.  I would want a video of the action.

But like I said, I know very little about your idea and maybe you have it all figured out!

Sorry I do not have an answer to your specific question about price.  I almost never go in for these kinds of extras.

Participants need to wear a small device, which is not a camera. Cameras are mounted around the site. The basic idea is we will know when you pass the front of a camera.

UStar,

It`s definitely a great idea. I think tops that I would personally pay is $40-$50.

My company is Face2Facevideo.com. We are a pre-paid ($5) service video postcard company.  One of my ideas was to put together pod sites in tourist attractions where they can send video postcards via email.  With wireless broadband  availability, it`s should make this a hit with tourist belts.

My intention was procuring these pod sites with portable palm computers (most of which are equipped with built-in cams).  This  will  enable portability, easy video sharing, and moment sharing.

One of my target areas is San Francisco, do you think I got a chance to put something like this together?

Thanks for comments.

Your idea is pretty interesting. Yet it take knowhow that beyond my knowledge to answer. Maybe you can find someone with business experience in this field to answer the pod set-up questions.

Ustar...

I understand your concept now - that people aren`t wearing cameras.  If that were the case, I thought it not a great idea.  But a sensor that triggers a stationary camera is a good one.  I can definitely see a market for this.

I don`t know what the sensors look like but I wouldn`t call it "a small device that someone wears".  That sounds strange.  "Wearing" something denotes fashion, as if you are making people look a certain way.  What if someone said you had to wear a certain hat while at Disneyland?  I know your sensor is not a hat but the term "wearing" hints at this kind of thing.

In stead, I would be vague about it.  Call it a small sensor that someone keeps on their person, or something like that.

Ustar,

Thanks for the reply.  I do think your idea is brilliant.

A watch style-device - not a bad idea.

But what if I didn`t want to wear a watch because I thought it looked stupid, especially since I`m going to be captured by cameras?  I imagine this would seldom be the case but I am playing devil`s advocate here.  (I don`t work for the devil though.)  Could I just put it in my pocket?  What if I lost it?

On the other hand, a watch is a great way to do it.  The "face" of it could be used for some sort of branding, meaning if you sold the idea to Disneyland, they could pay extra to you for Disney-branded "watches" that advertised their next animated film.  Or something like that.
