Here is the situation:
There is an individual who could help to raise money for my company. He has the contacts and could do the introduction with Business Angels/VC. He can help on the presentation and be with me during the meetings. He would basically work as an advisor. Once the company is funded he would not do anything.

Question: How much should I give him?
He is asking for 4% of the raised money and 3% of the company. Is it reasonable?

Any advice is appreciated.

Only advice I can give you is google "Asheesh Advani."  He has a ton to say about financing startups and perhaps he`s available for free advice...

As an entrepreneur you gotta be gutsy and press and take risks...

The worst anyone can say is no...Be humble, don`t pretend to be someone your not and you will find that most people will be willing to lend a hand...

That`s the best I can do for you...sorry?

For openers - people who collect commissions on funds raised  are required to be registered as a  broker-dealer. That would be the first question I ask.

Once I had his "license" information , I d check him out and talk to his previous clients.
