Are you a master at multi-tasking?  How many things can you do at once and still feel like you`re being efficient and thorough in each task?

I actually believe that I can accomplish more when I am multi-tasking. I prefer to have at least 3 things going on at once. It tends to keep me motivated and working at a good clip.

If I don`t have much going on, I am the king of PROCRASTINATION!

I ran out of fingers to count on.

I do get more done when I focus on one thing at a time. I might have 10 projects going at the same time, but at this second I`m only doing one thing.

I can walk and chew gum at the same time...but if I have to find my ass at the same time, then I`m screwed. There`s all that research and study, trying to determine the intrinsic nature of both the ass and a hole in the ground, then to determine their essential differences, and how to understand those differences. With all that, I just have to give up one or the other---walking, or chewing gum.

Many years ago, I came across an article that stated the human brain could deal with 7 (plus or minus 2) tasks at the same time. So in theory somewhere between 5 and 9!

I believe there is a huge difference between `doing` and `in control of`. Currently I am:

- writing this reply
- upgrading a s/w tool on my pc
- thinking what I shall have for breakfast
- wondering what the weather will be like today in the UK
- listening to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers

However if I think about all the things I am in control of - literally 100`s!!!
I class multi-tasking as being able to juggle and be in control of a number of activities. The skill is to know which task is top priority!

I once played piano drums and sang out the same time.  It was the most beautiful music no one has ever heard.

One - I`m a man

Ouch!  C`mon, my husband can remember up to THREE things when I send him to the store.  I thought THREE was the man-limit.

Personally, I am a TERRIBLE multi-tasker.  Therefore, I have not finished college.  I got married my 3rd year and couldn`t handle BOTH working full-time and going to college (I was spoiled and hadn`t worked in college until then).  I tend to ignore both monsterous tasks and go hide in front of the TV.  I do better when I can concentrate on ONE THING at a time.
