Trade shows are HUUUUUGE for a webased business.  You have no store front to get your name out.  Advertising and word of mouth are all you got.  Trade shows are tremendous because you usually can only go to ones that will have your target audience.  Not only can you attract new customers but you can build business relationships that will help you run your business better. 

I have met so many people that I now do business with regularly at trade shows.  That is just as important as attracting new customers.

this depends mostly on your product offering.  in the retail industry, big or small, i have found that trade shows are beneficial. i have seen 200k businesses grow to 13M over time, and they attended trade shows from the get go. trade shows help tremendously from a networking perspective more than anything else

Trade show are good for exposure. but main thing is good marketing.

if you have good marketing team then its good for your business. you can promote your business with the help of internet marketing too.

I'd say if the business is real then trade show is important. That's where you meet people face to face and that's where you can start business relationships. 

In my opinion, I think trade shows are very important to a home based business because it creates awareness to the local community that you have a business.

They say human interaction is the best way to networking, and we all know networking is a must if you want to build your business. Whether your business is B2B or B2C, you'll need to attend trade shows to have exposure. 

If you're selling physical products or some invention you've made, I believe trade shows and networking events are extremely beneficial.

Trade shows are hard sell and can be expensive. I have done several and rarely made enough from the show to pay the booth fees - most people are browsing at shows and collecting information. If you could get them on an email list to stay in touch with them - it would be perfect.

You would also have to be at a show that marketed to your niche - other wise you would really have to work it to makes connections.

I have run my whole business online without using the phone and broke sales records. I have not been to any of the company rah rah shows either.

The internet levels the platform of all business - and for reach to parts of the world we would never connect with.
