How do you get your material copyrighted and what is the proper way to let others know that material is copyrighted?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You might want to check out legalzoom.com. They have a section on copyrighting materials and can give you a step by step explanation of the process. They are also a lot more economical than hiring an intellectual property attorney.

Legalzoom.com did all of our materials and were very professional and timely.  But do consider a "real" attorney about some of the more intricate elements of intellectual property...Legal Zoom handles only the paperwork...they are not really there to give in-depth advice.

To copyyright your work is a simple process. Go the www.loc.gov (Library of Congress) - Click on Publishers on the left hand side of the site. Then click on U.S. Copyright Office.

On this page it gives you the basics on getting your work processed. It`s mainly selecting the correct form, filling it out and mailing it off. Just that simple. Should you have several pieces of work you want to copyright. Save mony and place them under one title and pay one fee.

Hey, within 4 to 6 months you will have your certificate.

Should you have any questions feel free to ask. I`ve been submitting my writings for some years now through this process. I speak through experience.

Have a productive, positive - make it your BEST day ever!

Peace,

C.F. Jackson
