How about sending a coupon code with the free sample so they will place an order? If you believe in your product all you have to do is get them to order once. Once they`re hooked (as coffee gets you) then a second order shouldn`t be to hard to get!
I guess this marketing strategy depends on your profit margin, but hopefully you could come away profitable even with that first order being slightly discounted.
Also, if you have any more or seasonal flavors... but, why not follow up that first coupon order with a sample of a different flavor?
