You can get books through Barnes and Nobles or Amazon..you can also take classes if they teach 'em at your local community college...just go online and do research...asking questions is a good 1st step..

If you want examples of some things you can do...
a. you can build the building green: that's when the building is positioned to gain max exposure to the sun, collects rain water and recycles water, has a green room where herbs and some vegetables are grown.

b. there's energy saving electronics i.e solar, wind, recycling use of sun light...etc

c. transportation: carpool system, offer free bus passes to employees..

good luck that should get you started :)

One that has strict and public policies that strive to reduce emissions, or use natural gas in its fleet vehicles or trucks, or recycle a large amount of its waste. Or... use recycled materials in the production of its products. Or.. uses materials that are easily biodegradable and landfill safe.

There is not an official gauge to test the "greeness" of a company. Many enterprise big and small are now somehow link themselves to "green" to improve their public images. It's one thing making charity contribution to environmental organization, making "green" products. It's another thing making tons of pollutants at the same time.

Its also important to look at the supplies in your office that your employee use.  Paper towels, plates, Styrofoam, etc.  Whats in your office is as important as what you send out of it.
