My brother and I are holding our Third Annual Tri-County Community Expo and we are looking to make contact with local businesses who would be interested in becoming a Corporate Sponsor for the event.  Corporate Sponsorships run only $2000, but allows the business to have a tremendous opportunity to be included on the event web site, venue signage, press releases, etc. as the sponsor of the expo.  The event is designed so that businesses of any size can promote themselves to a large number of potential customers in a cost-effective, yet highly productive manner.  We are already anticipating a tremendous turnout, but the corporate sponsorships will allow us to add additional advertising in local newspapers so that we can continue to spread the word.  Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated (or if you want to become a sponsor to promote your business!).  More information can be found at the event web site at www.tcce.biz

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your note. I would suggest making a list of your top "dream" sponsors and creating targeted pitch letters to each person.

In your letter, you`ll want to include the specific benefits for each potential sponsor, testimonials from current clients/customers/partners to build credibility, media clips, and any other pertinent data that will help "sell" your business. After you send the letter, do the appropriate follow-up via phone.

People are bombarded with many messages today so you`ll want to do the pertinent research and cater your sponsor pitch to each individual organization. The personal touch will take extra time, but it will be worth the effort.
