How do I find suppliers and merchandise for my online store?

I have a online business idea to create a cool, Christian Gift Shop that offers customers the opportunity to buy Christian & Religous gifts without the hassle of visiting a local store.

The business idea is in the very early stages. How do I locate suppliers to start finding merchandise for my store? Are there any tricks to the trade or resources out there to locate good suppliers?

Hi Tim,

One of the easiest ways is to look around other stores that you like and see who the manufacturers are of the products. You can then look them up online and ask for their wholesale catalog. Another way is to go to a trade show. If you don`t know where or when they are just ask one of the manufacturers that you find by scouting out the other stores. There are tons of great companies at trade shows.

I just did a Google search using the phrase "Christian Gifts Suppliers." I found over 3 million sites.

The International Christian Retail Show just ended in Orlando. Their website lists the manuafacturers and suppliers that exhibited there. The site is http://www.christianretailshow.com/ . You could also try http://www.wholesalecentral.com/. They have a lot of suppliers, not just Christian.
