How do I find a mentor in the clothing retail industry?

I am looking for a mentor who has experience in the retail and clothing industry. I`ve emailed some people in the past, but I got no response. So I was wondering what I have to do to get a mentor? Do I have to offer them something good (ie a share of my company) before they consider giving me their time?

I would look for a local fabric or fashion organization. It can be difficult in smaller markets, but maybe you can reach out to one in a nearby larger city and see if anyone is able to speak with you on the phone and answer questions on a regular basis.
