I seem to have found myself in a bind.

I am an inspirational speaker.

I was suppose to shoot my promotional video with a live audience later this month (the video was/is the last thing to be done before I put my website up. Unfortunately, the gig fell through. I didn`t think it was a problem as I had two other gigs later in the month. Problem is, neither of those will allow me to video my presentation.

So I am thinking of putting an ad on craigslist stating that I am willing to speak pro bono to a local youth group in exchange for the right to video my presentation.  Does this sound crazy?  Anyone have any other suggestions?

Try contacting a local high school or middle school and see if you can get permission from them to do your speech. It may be hard to do it at the last minute, but some local companies would probably be willing to take some time out of their day. Many companies usually pay for motivation speakers but since your offering this pro bono, I could see plenty of positive responses for you.

I bet if you contact a local chruch group, they would be more than happy to help you out.

Hope it all works out for you.

Let me know what finally happens.

Simple answer:  YouTube

Many like yourself have gone to become HUGE stars by successfully promoting themselves and building an audience that way.

Craig`s List is a good idea, since many people already know about film companies looking for extras to fill a set. Another possibility would be talking to your local library, setting up a seminar, then having it filmed.

Remember too that a talented camera person and editor can take 10 people and make it appear as if there are 100 in the audience. :-)

You can help promote your promotional video using Youtube and uploading it to other video sharing websites. Go to similarsites.com search for youtube.com it will recommend you a list of similar websites like YouTube

I hope this will help you :D

My two cents -- posting video online is a great way to help your exposure. Also, go on Twitter and Facebook and market yourself, try and create some connections, you will never know who you can meet!

AndyMutt offers some good advice -- I would check out TubeMogul -- they allow you to post to multiple video sharing websites at once, this would save you a great deal of time and would even tell you what the other video sharing websites are

Hope this is of help!

Another option is to barter. Perhaps you can provide your services to a video company in exchange for a professional video?
