Hi,
I am looking for a little direction for my website HoopCoach.org. The site gets pretty decent, targeted traffic but I don't feel the growth is as good as it could be. I am wondering if a redesign might encourage people to become members. Additionally, I would like to add a revenue stream outside of Adsense and was hoping someone might have an idea of what we could add.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, you got very a platform and very good content model with forums, blogs, chats, video and so forth. Thats the base for any social media network. First thing which comes to my mind when you say redsign is the color theme. Plain white is not attractive and as per studies bright or decent color combo makes people to stay in the website more. I would recommend you to get a designer and give a face lift to the site. That would be a big thing.
Secondly, are you getting good income thru adwords? If not, I would avoid totally. YOu can offer free ads for coaches to start and slowly charge money for the ads to hire coaches. That would be good revenue stream. Also I would organize content little better. It is scattered all over the place. Organize the left/right side only for menus and useful stuff, other side for forum and blog latest activities. That way memeber know where to go and easy to navigate around.
Third, Show the advantags of signing up to your website and what they will get by signing up and make dependencies in the membership access. If a member forwards something to another person, make that link only accessible if they are members.
Finally, you can sell books and open a store where you can drop ship items. May be add a classified section for coaches to sell and buy things within themself. Also you can sell space to the coaches to store things on your website and charge it.
Do you have newsletter for you website, if not add it to bring members to come visit regularly and offer things inthe newsletter.
