I do billing from home and need to purchase a new laptop....found a company called
www.techtradepartners.com that sells pre owned with warranty laptops. should I purchase a laptop that is pre owned I have a limited budget?
I agree StartUpCoachFL about getting off line sometimes. Even doing business over the phone, assisting someone in person, etc. can be important.
It's also healthy to get off line sometimes and work with people face to face.
I agree. I failed in my first online business that sold fountain pens because I didn't leave my house LOL.
Since then I get out to networking events and go to a lot of trainings where I network. Those relationships have been so valuable to building my business.
Thanks for the post!
I recently had a debate with a friend about the value of networking. His stance was that networking took a lot of time for very little perceptible reward, but I disagree.
While networking does take time and often doesn't lead to anything meaningful, on those rare occasions, you'll meet someone who'll change the course of your life. That's happened to me twice. The first time, I met someone who would later become my business partner in a start-up that we ended up selling. The second time, I met a guy who taught me the ropes of real estate investing, which was something I've always wanted to learn, and it also led to a substantial profit.
If I would have stayed home on either of those days (and I guarantee that I almost did), I wouldn't have met those guys and my life wouldn't have been the same.
Even though networking can be a hassle and it can get tiresome listening to countless people pitching their wares, it might be the most valuable thing you can do for your business and your life.
