The question is:  When you turn on your coffee maker: Does it return the favor?

Hehe  that`s what I get for listening to too much talk radio.  I`m a micro roasting wholesale coffee, and coffeee equipment guy.  I totaly enjoy helping others, and I`v been in buisness for five years.  I run my buisness with my own funds, and no second income.  I very much enjoy the radio show and if I can help in any way: Please let me know.

Did someone say coffee?
I am a big coffee person (No I don`t have yellow teeth when I smile)...
But here are a few questions to you:
1. Where are you located?
2. Have you hear of Gavina coffee? I been looking for it..
3. Do you have any samples? What type of coffee do you have? Columbian, Guatemala? South American? Low on Acidity please....

Nuevo...
1) I`m north Of Seattle by about 60 miles.  IN a Very nice place called Skagit Valley.  Mostly farmland and rural.  So nice CLEAN air :)  I used to live in SoCAL...Yuk :(

2)yes I`ve heard of it.  NO I don`t recomend it.  It`s mostly about the FREE stuff and not the coffee.  My .02
3) yes Columbian, Brazilian, Guatemalan, Peruvian, And low acid is easy.. mostly the ACID issue is about STALE ( rancid) coffee whose iols have oxidized and become rancid.  Percieved a acidic.  I suffer from acid reflux, and since I have been roasting a havn`t surrered it from my coffee :)  e-mail me at: troy@lacreamcoffee.com and we can set up a roast preference and a taste profile.  Then I would be happy to send you a sample.
p.s.  WOW thank you so much both of you, for the quic friendly responce. :) Have a Merry Christmas !

Okay, although tea drinkers are clearly superior in character, morality, beauty, intelligence, and height, I "suppose" there`s room (somewhere) for those who drink coffee. :-)

Welcome to the forums, Troy... :-D

I was actually just reading an article about micro-roasters...I can`t remember in which country, but I seem to recall it was somewhare around Africa. Anyway, it was a thread about how to improve their revenues. Ah...I think it was a church organization! Anyway, what they did was formed a co-op, bringing ALL the varied blends and roasts together, and creating a unified marketing and sales entity. It was like a central selling unit, offering a tremendous variety of flavors.

The object was to compete with the huge international conglomorates, and still retain all the qualities you`ve mentioned. Have you looked around (or do you even want to?) to see if there`s something like that in the States?

Dear Craig,

Just like the sliding morality of our society, coffee is taking the place of tea in many places on this planet. That being said:  I truly enjoy some teas.  I have samples from two vendors that I am having a hard time deciding on.  So I guess I`ll order from both :)  Even more about me:  I look forward to all aspect of the coffee and TEA culture.  They both are so rich in culture that it’s enough for me to not loose interest.  In Africa, the coffee culture is (depending on the region) very old and actually it`s where what we know as " coffee" or Kaffee came from.  Being that Africa has as most would agree; Issues in development, and with the “broken infrastructure post apartheid.  It’s a good thing if the article and the efforts can overcome those and more challenges.

In the American Coffee industry the Large Conglomerates (nestle, folders ect...) are in a totally different market.  They are however trying to make inroads into our SPECIALITY COFFE market.  My " Conglomerate type are: S-bucks,Tully`s Peets ect....My market is much focused on quality and service than they can be.  I was in the FDA for a year and then worked for drug companies.  So I understand what Scalability is and I understand that when a company grows the threat of culture (service and quality) can change.  So far my customers are comprised of: Churches, Restaurants Espresso bars, espresso drive thus, and a few private accounts.  My focus is on providing a Unique Superior High quality Coffee/Equipment and Service.  Most of my business is form word of mouth, direct, and referral.

Oh I alreday do source many varieties from comunities in the regions that the green coffee come form.  In africa they can combine different plantations coffees, like they do in Brazil ( many farms-one Brazil crop)  Converse having one or two estate coffees from one country like: gaut or Cost Rica,  as my buisness grows I strive to obtain coffee directly for the farmers and more directly support thier community.  For nowI have to relie on that my broker is a partisipating in Community Supportive practices.

Thank you so much for the post.

Ok, there`s this brand that I tasted at a restaurant... It`s coffee but it has a walnut taste to it... It`s not flavored coffee ... Can`t stand flavored coffee... Would you know off hand what type of coffee it is?
Tell me something else, does coffee have to be rancid to be considred of high grade?

Could have beeen a full-city roast Brazil.  Medium body milk chocholate nutty essence.

Rancidity has to do with the cofee goins stale,  rancidity is caused by the oxidation of the coffee oils. Hig grade or low grade coffee has oil.  The " low grade" coffee will just have inferior flavor, and be " worse" than the high quality.  Even though they both can suffer fom bitter/weak flavors when stale.

Hmm...the decline of tea in parallel with the decline of morality. By gosh, I believe that`s the truth!!
