While I was speaking to a client today, I had some guys over (myhandyman.com) installing a new attic staircase.

At one point the electric saw was so loud, I had to fib and tell the client that we`re expanding our offices.

See my blog on fibbing at www.blogfabulous.com.

For anyone who was/is a Flintstones fan---  what about having some character like Kazoo in Rich`s comic strip?

For those who aren`t familiar with the reference, I just mean some kind of person/being that only the main character(s) of Rich`s comic strip can see or interact with, but everyone else either can`t see (him/her/it) or can`t interact.

If you`re a Calvin and Hobbes fan, then it`s Hobbes as a stuffed tiger whenever anyone else is in the room, but a living-breathing-talking-philosophizing tiger when Calvin is alone with him.

Anyway, it might be an interesting foil to have in the dialogue during crazy entrepreneurial moments.......it could be a talking dog that gives great advice or a 3-year old CEO behind a successful family business, or...???... etc. etc....

It may sound stupid, but it is a comic afterall....... and it would be a fun metaphor for the entrepreneurial spirit  that some of the other people "just don`t seem to see" even though it`s right in front of everyone

Canadiasian,

I love the direction you are going here, I like all of the suggestions but without question feel the

or a 3-year old CEO behind a successful family business,

would be the best, because it would promote the idea that everybody could contribute even those that most people wouldn`t even consider.

It would also promote the idea that kids can be entreprenuers also, and would have the ability participate earlier in life.

Rich--
You definitely need the parade of family and friends at the door requesting favors while "they`re at work."

Canadiasian, the Kazoo reference brings me back. Thanks for kicking on the wayback machine. I`m not sure about the talking dog, though, it`s a little too Son of Sam for me.

LOL...talk about a reference from the past.

The talking dog could be more like the ones you see in The New Yorker...dressed in business clothes (I guess that would be pjs for some of us).

you guys/gals are onto it - regarding the dog, we`re going to be creating a fun everyone-can-participate aspect to building that character - stay tuned for that.

the other family members/characters are a little more developed and you`ll be meeting them in the month ahead.

talk around, see what people have experienced, and keep bringing ideas to this post!

cheerio...

Rich--
I think there definitely should be a character called, "The Sway Nester."

Rich,

to what extent  are you going with this idea  Are you looking for different potential chars,  different names.  Should we give you as many  different situational experiences  that an entreprenuer  goes through?

Do you want them to be educational, just for entertainment?  Or mybe intergrate  a promotional aspect, so free publicity can be gained.

is this just for fun or do we want to make it into a fun and business benefiting program.

Just looking for a little more direction for your desires.

Actually Mike, I`m an occasional... and terrible... bowler. I just love the imagery of four bowling Elvises.
Not sure I can help you there.
But keep me in the loop, you sound like your always perculating with ideas.

Back to Rich`s idea.
I think a lot of humor can be drawn from the misconceptions of "working from home." Some of it is intergenerational--my dad would probably lump working from home with free love, wide-legged skateboard pants, and neighbors who refuse to wave or say hello.

There`s definitely a corporate and working class mentality, too. Like it`s some sort of scam... like healthy people parking in handicapped spaces.

There would be all kinds of interactions between your entreprenuer and these types of people.
