Hey, I'm glad I ran into this site because a friend and I are trying to start-up a business ourselves and I could sure use some help on researching and finding numbers.

We have some novel ideas for social networking sites and I'm at the point in the business plan where I need to start thinking up numbers for start-up costs, however, I don't really know the first place to go for that.

I know we'll need money to apply for the legal fees, copyrights, etc, but don't really know how much that kind of thing costs: Company logo, on and on. My guesstimate is around 20k for all of that. Then we'd have to worry about server fees, office set-up, etc and that could be anywhere from 20k to 100k depending on where we set up shop, etc.

I guess I just want a helpful guide on where to pull these kinds of numbers from as well as cash flows, etc from other social networks.

 

In school I'd always use their cash-flows (that of another business close to mine) to get an estimate of the cost we might incur while writing a business plan, however, these types of companies rarely, if ever release their statements so I haven't been able to find anything on them with my google searching.

Hey everyone, Nothing has really changed since getting to this point, I really can't get how all my costs will be for starting up, there's just so much We would need and I feel like just putting a number down is not the way to go, but I don't know how to start putting down costs.

An example is, I know we will need servers because we are trying to start a website from the ground up (I'm being intentionally vague because I don't want to give away my idea, I like it too, much, sorry). However, I don't really know anything about servers so I don't just want to put 1k down and be done with it if I think I'll need more later on.

 

I'd really like some help from all of you out there.

In my opinion you should not be set high price for that. and i also have no more ideas about it.
