Hi I`d like to introduce myself!

For 18 years I have been running a tax, accounting and business consulting business. I am also the CFO for a great, high-tech start-up. We were successful in finding some fantastic angel investors for our seed round of funding and are now working with VC`s on our launch funding.

I enjoy working with entrpreneurs and watching businesses grow from early stage ideas, to fabulous profit making businesses!

I hope to share what I can to help others with their businesses, but I also am looking for advice on internet marketing. What really works and what is just hype!

Hi Kathleen :-) Welcome to the Startup Nation...!

What have you heard about Internet marketing, that you`re thinking might be hype? The reason for the question is that the term is so broad, it`d be easier to maybe go around on it by specific categories or types or techniques, y`know?

Hey Kathleen,

Welcome to SUN.

I am not an Internet Marketing expert but I do have a mentor who is.

If you are interested I can provide my mentor`s name and I can share my own experiences and what I have learnt, so far.

Let`s keep talking!

Enjoy your journey!

I guess “Internet Marketing” can cover quite a bit!

What I mean is that I see many, many websites offering to sell a report, a book, or a system that is going to attract hordes of visitors to your site and make you rich off of AdSense.   Then when you purchase said book, report, system, etc, the methods described either…

A: don’t work, have never been tested and are just someone’s idea of something that sounds good.

B: use tactics that are misleading or downright unethical or are a way to “game” the system.

C: Is just a “teaser” to get you to buy the much  more expensive course or seminar.

D: or, best case scenario is just a compilation of information that you could get yourself for free if you are willing to take the time.  This is OK by me, because there is value in  not having to search for the info myself.

Generally I believe in paying professional s to do what they do best, so I can spend my time doing what I do best.  However,  my budget does not always allow me to follow my own advice!  So, I would be interested in hearing about what marketing methods people have found successful. Specifically when expanding from a local market to a more global market.
