I`m new to the board...just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Mia.  I am in the startup phase right now (just applied for my DBA, home permit...all of that good stuff).  I`ve decided on a business name and secured the URL.

I have a lot to do, won`t be up and running for a few months...but I needed to connect with others to keep up the momentum!

I found this site at the perfect time.  Don`t you just love that?

In any case, nice to meet you all.

All the best!

Hi David,

Yes, Irvine is right around the corner.

My interest is peaked by your abbreviations.

What do they all stand for, if you don`t mind me asking?

Thanks for the *welcome* post.

Hi Mia,

I guess I posted those abbreviations in my profile out of habit.  The BPE stands for my degree in physical education, the CSCS*D is my professional credential as a strength and conditioning coach and the CFC is another professional credential from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.

So what exactly do you do and what is your company you wish to create going to focus on?

Take care,

David.

Hi David,

Not ignoring you...you asked me a good question: what specifically do I do.

I could go on and on about what I do...basically, some of it is covered in my bio.

I bring all of my administrative skills to the table to help get your business running efficiently and effectively (bookkeeping, drafting letters/memos/notes/emails/marketing materials, schedule appts., cancel appts., reschedule appts., research information on the internet, negotiate credit issues, place orders with distributors, proof copy, write copy, tweek copy...the list is exhaustive).   That`s just the business side of it.

If you`re looking for personal assistance: relocating, planning parties, menu selection, find contractors, gather bids for projects, design invitations/holiday cards, find photographer, have lawn re-seeded...you name it...I can find it and have it in place for you.

I`m looking for long-term collaborative relationships with solo-preneurs who need someone to help them with the details.

I complete your to-do list and I share the burden of your stress and anxiety.

I`m a one-man show...so I only have the time for about 10 clients.  I haven`t even started and I already have one.

I just need to steadily work on the basics and get up and running by the new year.

Mia,

That sounds like a great idea!  There are a lot of people in southern California who have the money and lack of time to use this type of business.  I wish I could...perhaps some day!  We should look into cross promotion in Orange County (I don`t know if I have any clients who might be interested in this, but as I am opening a fitness facility in 2007 there will be plenty of people who hopefully will come for workouts...maybe they might be interested).  If you have a website we could also link exchange and promote that way.

Just a thought...take care,

David.

Absolutely...I think it`s a great idea.

You keep me posted and I`ll keep you posted.

It`s a small world.  Paths cross all the time.
