TWC ... the question now is ....whew , all of you got way off track here ...

In several months of being up and running ....

  1. Have you sold anything?
  2. How are you doing with not only the site being indexed by the search engines ... but are the store pages themselves being indexed? (I think you know where I`m going with this question.)

Best of luck with the site, but its a long hard journey. I pray you have the drive, the passion, the energy, and the resources to succeed. (I`m pulling for you !!)

TWC,
Don`t even go along with blondieblue... Its TJG in disguise, or one of TJG`s HAGS... It`s OK TJG come out of the closet... No need to hide behind a name like blondieblue.... or are you sitting on your computer wearing fishnet stockings and high heels in a diaper.... GO TJG.....

First of all, I truly believe the question was directed to the OWNER of the web site ... not you, Nuevolution.

Secondly, if you read my post you will see that the post includes encouragement ... as well as sound advice.

Thirdly, I believe it is a valid question to ask regarding sales, since TWC has previously posted that with another on-line venture he didn`t have a single sale after over 6 months of being up and running. Isn`t the purpose of an on-line is to SELL things and make a profit from the sale of those items?

Fourthly, as far as a reference to TJ Graff of GoTruckStop.com, http://gotruckstop.com/ ... I have no affiliation or connection with him. However, I do know that both he and Beth Downey of BoxerHaus.com, http://boxerhaus.com do have successful on-line stores ... and yes they sell a bunch of items through their on-line stores.

And finally, I do believe that that type of personal attack violates the guidelines here at SuN ....  but of course the "Negativity Clique" raises its ugly head again and gets away with name calling. (Gee Joel, which post are you going to delete ... mine (encouraging TWC) or Nuevolution`s (with his personal attacks and name calling)? Hmmmmm.......

Ok first of all, have you ever heard the saying "a snake always leaves its trails" no matter on what surface it drags itself on? well, the loud mouth, the [sqeeking like a little girl] boxerhaus, gotruckstop, apple cart... comes from no other than TGJ... it seems like everytime someone mentions Shopping Carts or SEO... TJG comes ranting with his "I haven`t wasted a dime" look at me, I`m shaking my butt... weeee. sorda thing... (come on... Big Rig parts? niche market... you don`t catch your everyday american driving in one)... Boxer "dogs"... Not into dog fights, I`d prefer a poodle, I have children...

Here`s a better suggestion for GOTRUCK STOP...
Why not add a "DENTURES" Category at gotruckstop.com.. that would come in handy...

The bold lettering, the attacking [at Joel]... if you got kicked out of SUN it was for a reason... now you come disguised as some blondieblue?
Dude Grow up... BTW this is not a personal attack towards, you... it is a simple request to stop hiding behind other names...

Alright Boys and girls, trucks and dogs, or what ever you want to call yourselves. That is enough. I did not make this post to start a community war. In one way or another, every post is meant to help, whether it was to harsh or not harsh enough.
To answer the question, no, I still have not sold anything. I just do not have the financial`s to do everything that really needs to be done especially if the site is not bringing in an ounce of income to help.....I was hoping that at the very least the site could help pay for some advertising or SEO stuff....but I`m just not in a position to bank all those things at the moment without the site at least helping some.
I have actually been considering shutting them down and saving my pennies and ordering a small amount stock and getting a booth at the local flea market and selling out of there for a while and see if I can get a customer base started, and once that is achieved, then maybe open up the sites again.
Yes, it is very discouraging, but I can guess that you see I do not give up that easy, it just much easier to sell in person and then send your new customers to a site for follow ups. And if you offer a good product and good service, those customers will tell their friends and family, and with any luck, it will just domino from there.
So, please guys, let`s stop all this bickering back and fourth and get back to what this site is meant to do, which is help other achieve their idea of success in what ever venture they are attempting.

I totally agree with nhgnikole.  And I realize this post is over 2 months old and you still have not changed anything on your site.  The color contrast is WAY to bright and very hard to look at... I could not buy from your site.  Good luck.

Personally, I like the colors, however I think you need more contrast; red on orange and red on red and orange on red and yellow on orange .... well, you get the picture, I hope, from another point of view.

The list on the left has empty categories ... why? If you don`t have anything to stock in them, what`s the purpose of listing them? It just adds some confusion to the user. Also, a link to "Specials" when there aren`t any probably isn`t the most effective thing to have. And the language selection; if you only have one choice, why even mention/show the flag?

Without searching for these items, I have no idea how your prices compare with anyone else`s, whether online or through an retail outlet. Maybe some comparison prices so that users have some type of reference or indication that they are saving money or getting a good deal though your site.

Other than just showing products and prices right off, some text/content/information on why you are a good choice for buying from would help. Tell me something about what benefit I will get from you and your site compared to somewhere else.

Put in some meta tags for keywords and description.

TWC, sorry to hear about your latest endeavor`s lack of success. You have been around from the start of SuN`s forums. And I have read a number of your posts about your two websites. You are right, you don`t give up easily.

I think the most important aspect that you have gleaned from all of this is in your last post. ...

.....I was hoping that at the very least the site could help pay for some advertising or SEO stuff....but I`m just not in a position to bank all those things at the moment without the site at least helping some.

I have actually been considering... saving my pennies ...

I agree with your wisdom. So many folks attempt to start a business without the proper capitalization (start up money) to give themselves a chance to suceed.

You have the drive, the determination, and the fore-sight to beyond just the immediate. I recall TJ Graff had a similiar thought a few years ago, when he was frustrated with where GoTruckStop.com was going. In fact, if I recall a posting that he made here over a year ago .. he said he was shutting down the site ... and look at it now.

Don`t give up on the dream .... just lick your wounds, collect your pennies (they`ll quickly grow into dollars) and when you are ready ... you`ll know ... the Lord will tell you when its time to start again.

Take care.
