Is that an affiliate site?
If it is, I`d drop it and find another vendor.
That site leaves a lot to be desired.
There just isn`t anything appealing about the site at all.
It just isn`t designed to sell at an optimum level
Find a vendor that has a clean, well designed, well organized, high converting site.
Then get your own web page preselling the product and funnel customers to the vendors site via your affiliate link.
As an osCommerce site, it is fine...and functional. A few things would make it a little more user friendly:
Product detail pages - The yellow text on rust background is hard to read. If you want to keep the rust colored background maybe try white text. OR change the background to whiat and use black text. Also, left justify the text rather than centering it.
Use your home page to summarize what the site is about and communicate your marketing message. Obviously the home page colors need to be compatable with the store`s colors.
twc specifically, as the site is presently constituted, it`s extremely hard on the eyes, nor is it set-up to achieve optimum sales.
First of all, I think you`d be much better off going with a white background with black text.
It`s much easier on the eyes.
Readability studies show white text on a blackground is far easier for most people to read.
That`s why book pages are printed black on white.
Second, as soon as visitors land on your home page, they should be hit with a compelling headline that alarms them...jars them...magnifies the crime problem and makes them feel like they really do need to purchase your products for their own personal safety.
Third, throughout your site, you should use a graphic of a victim being mugged.
This will bring your message home psychologically.
Remember a picture is worth a thousand words.
