Hey all, you all have been super helpful in the past so I`m hoping you can help me now.

I`ve run up against an unexpected expense that will have potentially dire consequences if I can`t pay up before the 31st. I need to make 2 medium to large sales and collect the up-front deposits within the next 10 days to avoid these consequences. Normally the sales cycle takes several weeks or longer.

Do you have any leads, suggestions or advice? Note -- I have an agreement with a few of my designer colleagues that if they send me a lead that results in a sale, I kick them 5% finder`s fee. I`m happy to extend this to anyone else who helps me out.

You`re welcome to email me directly if you like: paula [at] rabbit-mountain [dot] com

Thanks,
—paula, sweating bullets

Paula,

A few comments:

First try not to sell under pressure. It can show to potential customers. Next, since you are under a timeframe your should take a moment to prioritize how best to get these sales in the timeframe needed. You should then make use of the following in this order:

1.) Follow up on existing proposals- Even if they are old
2.)Call current customers check in on them and ask for refferals
3.) Using the prospecting techniques you know have worked for you in the past
4.) TALK TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY
5.) ASK FOR THE SALE.... give a customer incentive to close right now via a special promotion

Good luck!

Hello Paula!

It`s a drag with the economy in such a state, I will put some feelers out for you.

Breakouttools hit on some good strategies, but don`t forget to look the other way too. With defaults flooding the A/R sector, you are in a better position to negotiate your terms. I can tell you for sure, being on the A/R end, we`d be happy to get something towards what`s owed, rather than nothing, or worse, default, or worse still, the company going under. Have you talked to your collectors on this? Perhaps you can temporarily renegotiate the terms.

Good luck to you! Keep on keepin` on!

Paula, I feel for you.

Is there any possible way that you can get an extension of the 31st deadline?

I know that won`t solve the problem, but it will buy you some time.

And if you have enough time..who knows what might happen.
