Hey artsy9, yeah, I came up with a method that works.  Get a pen and paper.

First, write down every word you can think of that relates to what you do, like art terms.  Put a time limit on it, like 5-15 minutes, then stop writing.  You might come up with terms like art (obviously), creative, brush, paint, vision, thoughts, aesthetic, progressive, etc.  Just anything at all that may relate to art or anything artsy.  And don't do any self-censorship at this point, the object is to get as many terms on paper as possible.

Then, think about what you want this business to say, how you want it to effect people.  Here, you can write down simple words, phrases, even sentences.  I call this "writing in longhand".  It's about getting the idea down.

Examples:

-want this business to excite people

-want them to think of unusual things, wonderful things

-paranormal edge?

-I'm going goth on this

Get the idea?  Then, narrowing of ideas comes next.  Actually think of one-word terms to describe the things in both lists.  Get a thesaurus to help you.  You might end up with a list of hundreds of terms.  Then, put it all together, start combining terms.  You might end up with a one-word name for your business or one that fifty syllables long or whatever you want!  The trick is to go full speed ahead on this and then sleep on it.  Give yourself plenty of time!

Lastly, come up with a list of several names and then Google them.  It's better if no one else has that name.

Hope this helps!
