Over the past two weeks I have let a lot of negative thoughts creep into my mind and has resulted in the feeling of being lost.  I`m working on my visualization again and trying to get back on track.  Any suggestions, tips, tricks etc on how to remain in line with LOA.  It`s funny that I`m writing this because in the past when I have been centered I`ve read these types of posts and wondered how that person managed to get so off-centered.

Hey Brad,
It happens to me sometimes too. What I do is listen to some of my motivational tapes like Firewalk by Tony Robbins. If not, you can try some of those short clips in YouTube. It should boost up your emotion and at the same time, synchronize all your thoughts. I hope it will help you.Smile

The Law of Attraction responds to whatever vibration you are sending by giving you more of it, whether it`s positive or negative. It simply responds to your vibration.

Whether it`s a positive or negative vibration, the Law of Attraction will give you more of the same.

When you make a statement containing the words don`t, not or no, you are actually giving attention and energy to what you don`t want.

Simply ask yourself         "SO, WHAT DO I WANT?"

When you go from what you don`t want to what you do want, the words change. When the words change, the vibration changes, and you can only send out one vibration at a time.

To know whether you are sending out a positive or negative vibration, simply take a look at the results you`re getting in that area of your life. They are a perfect reflection of what you are vibrating.

I just read a book that really helped me, Mark DeMoss`s The Little Red Book of Wisdom that has just been published.

DeMoss calls focus "staying under the umberella."

Check it out at www.LittleRedBookofWisdom.com

Sometimes negative thinking is a symptom of anxiety. Have you had anxiety lately? I don`t think anxiety is always easily solved by law of attraction and so forth, but I suppose it doesn`t hurt.

If you`ve had anxiety, the first step is to catch yourself when you begin to experience thoughts that are the result of anxiety or thoughts that will lead to anxiety. Once you catch yourself, you can decide what to do. Continue the train of thought, but pay attention, or stop thinking about it, or think about something else. One of the most powerful tools is "I don`t have to think about that right now."

Also, I don`t necessarily believe that certain thoughts are "bad" while other thoughts are "good". The mind manufactures thoughts at an alarming rate, and often these have very little to do with our present reality. So, I suppose learning to filter thoughts is important. It`s how we react or interact with our thoughts that matters.

The law of attraction is an interesting model but doesn`t provide many tools for handling thought overload. [ I guess it mainly provides a model for what happens if you can`t effectively manage your thinking. And when I say it doesn`t provide many tools, I realize that it tries to provide tools, but I don`t think it provides tools that are useful for many people. ] Handling thought overload requires practice, maybe for 30-90 days, until you get a good handle on what`s going on upstairs. Mental fitness is really no different than physical fitness; both require work. I`ve learned that spending time in the "mental gym" is important to my well-being.

bradley07,

i would imagine that if you ask yourself a series of questions like those in StartupNation`s Life Planning process, you`d come up armed with incredible clarity and confidence that you`re on a good path and in a more positive direction. we`ve had so many people send us their feedback on this powerful process, that i`m getting ever bolder in encouraging anyone and everyone i can convince to work through it. at the other end you will have a powerful personal manifesto that is an incredible compass in a complex world.

What`s a negative thought?

If I`m on my way to a club downtown, at midnight, and I`ve parked my car. Is it a "negative thought" if I contemplate that dark alley coming up?

Like so many New Age ideologies, they rarely go beyond the superficial. You aren`t having negative thoughts. You`re having thoughts.

The problem is that you`ve lost your focus. It isn`t that you have too many negative thoughts. How do you know you don`t have exactly the right number? How many positive thoughts do you have in comparison to negative thoughts? Can you put them into a spreadsheet, and make a calculation?

What is it you want to do. What was your focus, before you seemingly lost it? What are you thinking about most often that you believe it`s somehow negative?

Hi,

Its easy to get off center, a thought , a smell, the wind of another’s emotions blowing through you. Matters not how you got there, just not staying there.
Switchwords help a lot, and there is a lot of info here about them.
