I joined SUN about a month ago but haven’t formally introduced myself yet.

I came becuase I’ve racked my brain for some time trying to come up with a business concept that fits my life plan. Having held excellent and successful leadership positions during my lifelong career in a nonprofit field, I want to explore the for-profit world on my own terms. An online business seems ideal (dreams always do) because I’m good at working alone, a good communicator, have good technical skills, tons of experience and have had my fill of managing others.

Whatever direction I take, quitting my day job isn’t an option at this time because my family’s needs come first. Consulting might work but my field is overrun with consultants and besides, the thought of spending more time in hotels and airports is depressing.

Here’s what must be a part of any business venture I undertake:

1.        Creative freedom

2.        Benefit others

3.        Communicative

4.        Offer ongoing change

5.        Some art and/or music connection

Anyway, hello and I look forward to being engaged and contributing on these forums.
