Wow, this is a very nice forum. I can`t believe it took me so long to discover it!
I have been reading posts here and am really impressed with the professionalism and amount of quality information. Seems like a great group of people.
My wife and I design, prototype, manufacture and market fine jewelry... custom and Limited Editions.
Our marketing is done chiefly through the web site I`ve been making over the last 8 years. Web design and computer technology is definately not my strong point but it seems to work... thankfully and luckilly our customers are gracious enough to look beyond my marketing skills but, the web site has come a long way and even though i`ve never really advertised (i`ve spent maybe $100 in the last 8 years ) we seem to get a fair amount of hits and interest mostly by referral and we have a healthy waiting list of custom orders.
One might think selling high end jewelry during these times would be most difficult but in fact, I am excited because of the number of opportunities and unintended concequences that have and will present themselves for us.. The recession for me is great inso far as I actually have a chance to prove my business model and plan:) That being said, it`s not over yet and i could still fall on my face. but for now, it seems to be working.
Now I am preparing the busines for a sling shot effect of the recession and feel pretty confidant the pieces i need to profit from it are likely here in this forum from both static knowledge and direct help. (I`m hoping anyway)
So, without writing a book that would put most to sleep, I end with a big hello from the cascade Mts` of Oregon,
