Hi SuN :),
beeing new in this forum I´m not very sure where I can post my concern, so I thought about an "hello" post in the new member area ;).
I´m David, 30yrs from Munich/Germany (Oktoberfest ;) ) and I just finished my studies in industrial engineering. I didn´t study primerly to get great marks for a great job - I studied to get knowlege for a great startup ;)! No, seriously, I´m really into "founding" and in the last years I think I developed a pretty nice/interesting startup idea in the storage area which I want to realise!!! And I´m young enough to try the step into entrepeneurship :) (if I fail I still can get a job - but thats not my aim ;)!).
I think America has a better environment for creating/building startups than Germany. There are many big startup hotsport like Silicon Valley, Boston, New York, Chicago, Seattle etc...and the mentality is more opend mindet towards founding, startups etc.. For next year I plan a trip to the USA to visit some of these hotspots to get "connected" to the "startup world".
So my question is, which cities can you recommend me to visit for startup events in the tech/it/storage area? To what events do I have to go? Or are there specific forums/board about these subjects (primarily storage)? Or event calenders where I can find helpful events (like elevator pitches etc.)..? I´m just starting my research now to see where I could/should go and this site seems to be a good place to start :). So I´d be very thankful if you can give me some ideas or hints where to go, what event I should visit etc..
