Ross -

Glad to hear things are OK.  I heard from friends living on various islands and all are fine - except for a some minor structural damage.  The quake sure got my attention with the Captain Cook area on the Big Island on my short list of places to live in the future.

Thanks again everyone, we really appreciate it!

I finally got on CNN and FOX`s websites yesterday to catch up on the coverage.  It amazes me how dramatic they are able to make things look!  Don`t get me wrong, it was a powerful earthquake and we`re really blessed that no one died and that there wasn`t more damage done.  It certainly could have been much much worse.  But still, they almost made it sound like the whole island chain was sinking into the ocean!!!

Jeff -

You gotta know there`s the chance of something happening when you`re considering living on an active volcano!!!!  Besides, it`s not like anyone is really immune from natural disasters...  "Gee honey, I sure do love the view from up here on Mt. St. Helens!"

Yep - we fell little earthquakes here all the time and they usually are around Mt. St. Helens.  In fact, there`s been three little ones today.  With my ongoing vertigo issues I`m fairly sensitive to them.

When the mountain decides to blow off a little steam I usually hear a little "bang" and go outside to see the latest steam/ash plume...
