Hi there everyone,

I was after some advice.Im quite young ill be 21 im march, and have two young children 15 months and 1 month.

I want to set up a business from home and have been doing some research, which is how i came across this site!

I was wondering if you could give me some start up advice?

Is it best to do some kind of business course first?

Do you have any idea what kind of business?  Do you want to start a new business and a new company or get on board with and established direct marketing company? What are your hobbies and interests?  What do you do well and what do you like to do?  There are a lot of fantastic people here with tons of great advice, but a little more direction and information would be great.

A lot of people have had arguments and issues with eBay, but it tends to be those who are moving into eBay stores, high-volume sales, and so on.

However, eBay is an excellent real-world place to learn the basics of business. It helps you understand how to display your jewelry, what to say about it, how to make YOUR product more appealing. It offers a turnkey cash register, where you don`t have to know all that much to get started.

You can learn how to handle shipping, returns, your policies, and how to deal with customers. In other words, it gives you the opportunity to take baby steps, sell 1 piece of jewelry if you want, and see what you`ll need to know more about.

eBay shoppers aren`t necessarily the same as ALL shoppers. They tend to be looking for deals, the cheapest possible price, and so forth. But again, for someone who`s never tried to run any kind of business, there are all the basic concepts, right there.

The only other way to get that kind of experience, would be maybe to work in a retail store like Penney`s, Wal-Mart, or another big chain. But that means daycare, transportation, an employer, wages, and schedules. :-)
