I meant the "software side of selling" in the similar sense of people having "soft skills," where they`re intangible, hard to measure, and deal with concepts. Then there are the "hard skills," that can be measured, tested, and seen in evidence as someone is exercising that skill.

Making soap, changing prices, other operational management would be to me, hard skills---the hardware side. I used to do more work in the computer field, so maybe that`s why I use or like the term. Changing the marketing, developing a market position, thinking about how to get the product into a new arena, those would be mind things---the "soft" side" of the process.
