I guess I have a slightly different response, maybe I didn’t fully understand your concept.  I owned my own fitness related company for nearly 15 years.  I have experienced the joy`s of relocation three times.  While I certainly understand the financial concerns of your location choice, I would think that equally as important would be the facilities ability to produce for your tenants and possibly facilitate future growth.  Personally, I believe you’re your marketing/advertising plan will be the key to your success but your location will play a huge roll as well.  If you can find a location that has either a lot of drive by traffic or possibly one that has nearby companies that may compliment yours (maybe a medical complex where you can work your referral network) this might be a good place to start.

Whatsnext, thank you for your message.  I like your ideas about situating the business near a medical complex.  As I stated I would like to have a fitness facility of about 2000 square feet, and have physical therapy and massage therapy tenants in the gym (in their own rooms of course), so that it`s more like a wellness type center than a typical gym.

What is your feeling on how best to market this facility?  I have already written a number of articles (available in print and on my website), have contacted local media outlets to make myself available as an expert (for quotes on health and fitness issues, to write articles as necessary, etc.), have written my existing client network to help refer clients, and am in the process of setting up public speaking engagements with local clubs and organizations.  Other than typical business cards and such do you have any other ideas that would help market this business and drive up my client base?

Also I wonder what other advice you have for a first time wellness facility owner?  I have been in the field of fitness for a long time but have never owned a "brick and stone" business.  Anything you can offer will help.

Thanks...David.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Rebecca and I am an independent tavel agent. I have been booking travel and vacation arrangements for family and friends for about a year. I have decided to try my hand as an entrepeneur and expand my travel services. I have established a travel website where consumers can search, view, and book airfare, hotel rooms, cruises, vacation packages, and more. I have been researching ways to promote my website (URL is listed below) and stumbled across Startup Nation. This seems like a fantastic website and great way to network. I am looking forward to reading and contributing to the wide variety of posts that I have seen!

Best of luck to everyone!

Thanks so much katnap! I just spent some time looking at your website. La Onda Boutique definitely has some very cute and fashionable items. I love to shop and am sure I will be revisiting your site soon!

Hi Stella!
Thanks for the welcome.
I see that you are "aspiring". Are you looking to get into the health spa industry?
