Hello everyone,

Another organic item for the home to consider is furniture. I have worked in a furniture showroom that brought in wooden furniture imported from China and the smell of the formaldehyde was so strong it burned my nose. And we can only hope that there aren't other chemicals these non-regulated factories are putting into our furniture. There are many Amish-built furniture stores you can look into. I know it is more expensive to go this route, but if you look hard enough you may find something in your budget. I would rather support local families anyway, rather than some corporate conglomerate. Mattresses fall into this category as well. One company I know of (and there are many others out there I'm sure across the U.S.) makes custom mattresses with organic materials near Philadelphia PA. The company is called Magic Sleeper http://www.magicsleeper.net and is family-run, friendly, and partners with Amish families who build their box springs. Check 'em out. And if you know of an affordable organic sofa maker in PA let me know! Thanks, W.W.
