HEMA is a dutch department store. The first store was opened on November 4,1926 in Amsterdam. Now there are 150 stores all over the Netherlands.
You cannot order anything from the website, but they do have one of the coolest sites I`ve seen so far...

http://producten.hema.nl/

Open the site and just wait...the whole thing starts to move in a very cool way.

very cool site - the kind of thing that will really get people talking and having a fun experience while learning about all the products and growing to like the "fun factor" of the company offering those products...

ROFL!  I love it!! The site completely reminds me of a couple of CD games I bought awhile back, called "The Incredible Machine." Those date back to the original Rube Goldberg devices, with incredibly complicated ways to perform a simple task, like pouring syrup on a pancake.

I bought the games, which do nothing but waste time, and promptly spent hours and hours building the most ridiculous machines in the universe. Then watching them run, just like this site. :-) Rich is right about viral marketing! It`s a unique, new "something" in Web pages. I`d hope they`d have an "English" version of the page, and a way to purchase from the company because I`ll bet the site gets picked up all over the world.

Craig,

How right you are - I just sent it to my engineering group.  This is one of the coolest home pages that I`ve ever seen.  Fun and functional!

Turns out this is a "spoof" page, made to look like the actual home page. Not that it still isn`t a riot, but at least we know the actual store isn`t using the site. Fantastic advertising for them, though. :-D

That is really cool. It could have been a tad shorter, but it was still entertaining all the way until the end. Thanks for posting that!
