I was given a patent the other day because there was a question if one of my customers was infringing upon it. You have to read this to believe it - wonder how much $$ someone made for this one!
"The target surface and rear surface are outer surfaces of the metal alloy.
The metal alloy has a thickness direction substantially along the thickness. The
target surface is substantially normal to the thickness
direction."
I guess they are basically saying that the front and back are surfaces - out of control. I`m in the business and can hardly understand what they`re talking about, how is a patent examiner supposed to know what this means?
